At Huttenpark Primary School, we follow the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS). The languages of teaching and learning are English and Afrikaans. Zulu is incorporated as the 3rd additional language.

Our Foundation Phase comprises of Grade 1, 2 and 3. We aim to encourage the development of the whole child in a caring, safe, stimulating and educational environment, using a variety of teaching methods to develop enquiring minds in our learners.
Ons toegewyde opvoeders word bygestaan deur onderwyserassistente en onderwysers in opleiding wat verseker dat elke kind ‘n gehalte, allesomvattende onderwys ontvang, wat geleenthede skep vir aktiewe deelname in alle sfere van die skoollewe.
In addition to the wide range of subjects offered at Huttenpark Primary School, the learners also receive Physical Education, Creative Arts and Computer lessons that are all taught by specialists in these fields.
Our learners are also encouraged to read, they visit our school Library and Media Centre weekly, where they get to choose an age appropriate book to read for the week. Some of our foundation phase learners read more than 1250 books each year.
Ons leerders word ook aangemoedig om te lees, hulle besoek weekliks ons skoolbiblioteek en mediasentrum, waar hulle ‘n ouderdomsgepaste boek kan kies om vir die week te lees. Sommige van ons grondslagfase-leerders lees meer as 1250 boeke elke jaar.
The Intermediate and Senior Phase comprises of Grade 4, 5, 6 and 7. Well-trained, passionate and highly dedicated staff support the curriculum.
Die Intermediêre en Senior Fase bestaan uit Graad 4, 5, 6 en 7. Goed opgeleide, passievolle en hoogs toegewyde personeel ondersteun die kurrikulum.
Leerders ervaar ‘n meer geformaliseerde onderwysomgewing soos hulle in hierdie fase inbeweeg. Hierdie meer formele benadering help om ‘n gesonde werksetiek by ons leerders te skep. Dit is ook die eerste stap om ons leerders voor te berei vir hoërskool en tersiêre opvoedkundige instellings.

We also offer Robotics, however this does not form part of our prescribed curriculum. Learners interested in Robotics, are encouraged to join our Robotics Club.
